As a single-eyed captain of a fishing boat, John was having trouble navigating the seas around Roatan. For years he was blind after a copper hook lodged inside the center of his eye creating a cataract. Hiding in the heart of his dense cataract was shiny piece of copper which was removed. He wanted it as a souvenir.
