Carmel

Carmel had a special form of skin cancer that was growing over the sight on her eye. She is now cancer free after it was surgically excised and treated with special chemotherapy eye drops. Carmel is a good example of a patient that required a multidisciplinary treatment over several months. Plus, her care required good coordination between strong teams. She was diagnosed by our team from Virginia, treated by our other team from Wisconsin, and her pathology went through a lab in Illinois. And her follow up care can be provided locally in Honduras.
